I am very new to website management with no IT or webmaster training. So I have questions anytime something doesn't work the way I thought it would. The chat assistance on HostGator has been a life-saver for me. The assistants have walked me through every challenge, educating me along the way, and have helped me make my website everything that I wanted it to be. Because of that level of service, I am not afraid to be creative.
Host Gator support staff are the top in the website support field. Every challenge I've presented has always been resolved with courtesy, patience, expertise and ... speed. No website host in all of the United States provides the highest value at such a highly competitive price.
I have been with Hostgator for about 25 years and the customer service (under EIG) has been absolutely awful, truly horrendous. So I don't know what has changed but now it is 5/5.
I have been on and off with customer service for over a week, every time someone has answered the chat support within 60 seconds, they have been extremely helpful every time to the point where I don't even think twice about contacting them. I don't spend hours or days trying to fix things myself because it's easier to spend 2 days trying than getting through to someone. Now it really is great.
It really is astonishing the change in customer service that Hostgator has undergone. My only gripe is that I've spent 25 years paying for my old account which, over the years, has been discontinued as an option so I've been paying about 16 times more per month than I am now I have changed to a new plan.
It just worked before and customer support wasn't worth speaking to to try and change so I never bothered.
