It's okay hosting, but they make it a pain to cancel. I contacted chat support, and it was a sales pitch for staying with HostGator. I recommend just disabling auto renewal and not trying to get help from them.

I’ve used Hostgator’s reseller hosting for over 25 years, averaging between 160-170 clients every year. This has meant approx $1.5 million in hosting fees. Never once has HG failed to fix any of the small problems that can pop up, like php versions etc…. Pretty good side gig for a retired HS computer teacher. ( it also allowed me to retire early ?)

I’ve been with HostGator for years, but the support has become absolutely terrible. My websites suddenly slowed down across all domains, even simple one-page sites, and every time I contact support they just copy and paste the same scripted “optimize your website” answers.

They keep closing cases without actually fixing anything, and even after providing them with logs, screenshots, and DevTools timing (showing 15+ second server delays), they repeat the same template response about CPU usage or themes.

No one at HostGator seems to actually read the messages or escalate to real system administrators. The communication is robotic, the cases are closed unresolved, and there is zero accountability.

After days of chatting with multiple agents, nothing was resolved - just the same “please optimize your site” response over and over again.
Extremely disappointing experience and terrible technical support. I wouldn’t recommend HostGator to anyone who values uptime, transparency, or real help.

I have been a HostGator customer since 2022 and, until recently, my experience has been excellent. However, I am now facing an issue with my email storage.

Previously, my plan included unlimited mail space, and everything functioned smoothly. Recently, I began receiving server errors related to email storage. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that the system had been upgraded. I was not notified of any such upgrade or change in policy prior to this issue.

I am currently on a 10 GB hosting plan, of which I have used less than 4 GB. Despite having approximately 6 GB of available space, my email storage is showing as full due to system allocation limits. I was advised to upgrade my plan to resolve this, but I do not understand why this is necessary when I still have unused storage capacity within my current plan.

I kindly request clarification on the following:

Why is my email storage restricted when my total plan usage is well below the 10 GB limit?

When and how were these new system changes implemented, and why was I not informed beforehand?

Is it possible to reallocate my existing storage so that I can fully utilize the 10 GB I have already paid for?

I would appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter.
